Even though us parents may only buy what is on the list that the school posts, many teachers come out of pocket to make sure that their classroom will have the extra supplies in order to have throughout the year. At Sierra’s school you can’t buy anything personalized, because nothing you buy goes to YOUR kid, except maybe the pencil case. I hate it. If I wanted to donate, I’d donate… lol!
My kids school is like that, but I don’t mind getting extra stuff if I have the money for it. Last year, I was a little more involved with getting to know the kids teachers and stuff and I can see how every bit will help in their classroom.
